Summer and the lake district just go together SO well. It's the August bank holiday and we were beside Lake Windermere at the amazing Merewood House & Hotel for Kat & David's wedding day.
Kat & David are huge outdoor lovers and spend their time together in the mountains, so the Lake District was just the perfect place for them to spend their special day with all of their friends and family. Merewood House & Hotel is perched up on the Lakeside with amazing views of the surrounding mountains and countryside. Even with it being the busiest weekend of the year, the hotel was FULL of their guests and it felt like a little escape for the weekend.
An outdoor wedding ceremony is the rarest of things in the UK but Kat & David managed to avoid the guaranteed bank holiday rain to get married in the sunshine overlooking the lake. What a treat! Friends and family spent the rest of the afternoon soaking up the sunshine, in the grounds of the hotel and enjoying jigsaws in the bar area.
I especially love Kat & David's little details that they added to their day. Everything from the Brio hikers cake topper, the summit themed bunting across the bar, the seating plan and the amazing doughnut wall (I might have had one or two).
Kat & David wanted a relaxed and chilled out day and when it came to photography - nothing cheesy or posey. The photos that we captured truly show their personality and connection together. I'm so happy to have been there to capture their day for them - it was a huge privilege.
