Old Palace, chester. 28.05.23

I can't believe it's taken me so long to get around to blogging a wedding that happened in May, but I promise that it's worth the wait!

I think this was the wedding where you felt like summer was on it's way, with a few guests ambitiously braving sunglasses, shorter day dresses and you could feel that pre-wedding excitement in the air. The charming and historic Old Palace in Chester was the perfect backdrop for this modern and elegant wedding celebration, with guests traveling all over the UK to be there.

Rosie looked stunning in her wedding dress, which she had chosen from the selection at Brides of Chester. The dress was modern and stylish, with an elegant train and lace detail on the back, which complimented the surroundings of the palace perfectly. Rosie and her bridal party spent the morning in the bridal suite, sipping tea and champagne, whilst shedding a few tears over heartfelt cards and gifts from friends.

Joe and his large group of friends made use of the grounds to greet arriving guess between sneaking in a few pre-wedding beers to beat those nerves. The lads looked smart and modern in their grey suits from King & Allen, with green ties to compliment the colour scheme of the day.

The ceremony was short and sweet, with Rosie & Joe wanting to get the party vibes going straight away! Before you knew it guests were already drinking out on the lawns of the Palace and soaking up the spring sunshine. They started as they meant to go on, the drinks flowed all day long and I even spotted multiple trays of shots going around the tables at lunch. Rosie & Joe had said to me from the start that they wanted their day to revolve around their guests having the best time and for it being one big party. I would say, shots at lunchtime and dancing before the DJ had even started was a sign that they had accomplished the party vibe they wanted.

When I initially spoke to Rosie & Joe about being their wedding photographer - they spoke about how important it was for their guests to have a good time and for the photos not to take away from the fun of the day. I feel like Rosie & Joe's day had the perfect mix of fun, relaxed and elegant moments, which made it the perfect wedding to start the season for me.

Congratulations, Rosie and Joe, on your awesome wedding day!
