It's me again and back on the blog. I'm feeling reflective and looking back at some incredible weddings from 2024. I can't believe how quickly time has passed - Arissa & Adam's day feels like yesterday!
I know that I say it on every blog post but this wedding celebration REALLY was one of the highlights of the year for me. I don't even know where to start.
Let's start with Arissa & Adam; two of the most sweetest and lovely people that I've met in my photography journey so far. They have such an evident connection together and this was obvious with their desire to combine all of their cultural heritages into their wedding day. We had elements of Asian, British and Eritrean cultures that were evident throughout the day in forms of tradition, colour, food and coffee.
I also have to mention Llantilio House; the most stunning wedding venue based in rural South Wales. The beautiful surroundings and the rustic interiors made it the perfect blank canvas for Arissa & Adam to really put their stamp on. The perfect spot for a cultural celebration.
I actually started capturing the celebration on the Friday evening, the night before the official wedding day. This was to witness The Holud, which is a Bengali tradition where guests spread turmeric on the faces of the future bride & groom in a beautification process and to warn off bad spirits. This tradition was full of laughter, song and colour and the perfect get together before the official celebrations began.
The actual wedding day had SO much going on from start to finish, so i'm going to have to let the images do the talking. However, all i have to say is that the whole day was incredible. We had different elements of traditions; from the Rusmat exchange, to Eritrean leaves being thrown for confetti, to the exchanging of wedding rings. All backed by incredible energy, striking colour and infectious laughter.
The surprises continued throughout the day and the biggest one was saved until last; Arissa & Adam's guests had prepared a performance full of props, theatre and song that represented their journey as a couple, so far. What a way to end the most beautiful of wedding days.
Arissa's review:
"We are so grateful that the part of our wedding that stays with us long after the event is over, was in such great hands. From the very start, when we first had a chat about what we were looking for, right through to the end, Luke was absolutely fantastic. He put us at ease and made sure we got exactly what we wanted - absolutely gorgeous photos that captured ever aspect of the weekend with equal parts candid, cinematic, fun, sentimental, just stunning.
Thank you Luke, for your amazing talent and wonderful vibe. With a mixed-culture wedding, there were a lot of different elements, and you managed to beautifully capture it all. We will literally never forget you because your work will be plastered all over our home!!:)"
