Now, this was a wedding after my own heart - perfectly unique! It's August, it's a Monday and we were in a wet and windy Manchester city centre for Stephanie & Jame's very special day. Every wedding is special but this was different in so many ways.
I started the day at Hotel Gotham, which needs no introduction - probably THE coolest hotel in Manchester in my opinion. Steph had surrounded herself with her sisters, her mum and best friend for most relaxed bridal preparations, with a breakfast service and views over the city skyline.
The ceremony was held at Manchester registry office, where James was patiently waiting in his awesome double breasted, textured suit. The ceremony was brief but VERY emotional - the look on Jame's face when he saw Steph ... you had to be there!
After an improvised confetti throw, we had a brisk walk over to the first awesome surprise - a coffee stop at one of the best coffee shops in town - Bold St Coffee. Luckily, they knew we were all coming, so that guests could fill their bellies with coffee and sourdough toast before an intimate lunch back at Hotel Gotham.
The Honey restaurant at Hotel Gotham, is just a unique experience in itself with elegant surroundings of piano playing, city skyline viewing and exceptional food. The intimate wedding party then enjoyed cocktails on the roof bar, taking in the views whilst dodging the rain showers.
Onto the next surprise - the traditional Chinese banquet at Glamorous Restaurant on the edge of the city centre. Steph managed to stop for an outfit change and surprised her guests with her traditional Chinese bridal dress, which had beautiful golden details. Guests were served with the most amazing food and watched whilst Steph and James took part in the tea ceremony, which was a first for me and extremely moving.
Honestly, I could have gone on and on about this day. This is how you get married!
