A wedding from April last year and I've been saving this one as I still can't get over how amazing it was. I was on the incredible Gower Peninsula in South Wales where Beth & Charlie had found the most incredible and unique venue to get married - St Madoc Christian Youth Centre.
The youth centre is perched high up on the coastal cliffs of the far tip of the Gower Peninsula, which is surrounded by beautiful coastline, farmland and woodland. It's not a typical wedding venue but WOW, the views and feeling of the place, was just one a different level. Beth, Charlie and all of their guests had all helped to decorate the halls, canteen, sports hall and even the woodland. My highlight was all the handmade bunting and decorations that covered the woodland - awesome work.
Beth, Charlie and their guests all got prepared together in the dorms that surround the site, which made it feel like a really close-knit celebration. The bridal party got the VIP treatment - they had the old sports changing rooms on the football field. You'd have never had guessed as the room was full of laughter and big energy. I absolutely loved the burnt orange bridesmaids dresses and dried floral bouquets.
The ceremony was held deep in the beautifully decorated woods, where guests had travelled all over the world to witness Beth & Charlie finally get married. A beautiful ceremony, which eventually spilled out onto the cliff top over looking the sea with welcome drinks, hugs and kisses. I couldn't get over the views.
After some refuelling with afternoon tea and sheltering from the April breeze, guests enjoyed a DIY free bar up in the sports hall, where they could all catch up, play boardgames and soak up the amazing day. There were a few surprises coming as the Twmpath Band were arriving to fill the evening with traditional folk music and a barn dance!
I've honestly never seen anything like it at a wedding before - every single guest was up on their feet for the barn dance and the room was filled with energy and happiness. The energy levels were next level and stayed that way for when the band had finished and the silent disco headphones made an appearance - the first and last time I've seen a silent disco at a wedding and what a hit it was!
The most perfect DIY wedding ever and I feel incredibly lucky to have been there to capture it! Also a pleasure to work with some amazing suppliers!
